free or cheap 3ds max 6-8

where do i find a free or cheap version of 3ds max 6,7, or 8??? :?:

You can try the trial version, or buy the student version, which I think is ~$300.

Cheapest would deffinately be a student version. A one year license student version is about 200 (http://www.studica.com/products/product ... ctid=51259). You might be able to find a lower price somewhere, that was just a quick google search.

but i don't have 200 dollars. how about if i just use gmax and then exported a bunch of bsp's with 3ds max

He's saying that he will create sbsp's with GMAX and use 3ds Max to export the SBSP to .ASS format I'm assuming.

i mean that i will create a bunch of bsp's then get a trial of 3ds max and then create the maps the rest of the way.

You could, but that would kind of defeat the purpose of improving the BSP.
