Map to big?

I've been working on a map that's pretty big for a couple days now and I decided to test it out... Problem is when I run the map in halo the game crashes. Sometimes it crashes as soon as the game starts and other times i'll be able to walk around for a couple mins before getting an exception. Is there a limit as to how big our maps can be? I wouldn't be blaming it on my comp either seeing as I have: Intel Q6600 Quad Core, 3GB DDR2 RAM PC5400, nVidia GeForce 7350.

Your pc is fine. Maybe its the uneven ram? I've been hearing problems bout that.

I do a lot of rendering with Cinema 4D and that program uses the 4 processors perfectly.

What type of crash are we talking a bout? Is it an exception error or does it hang up where you have to use the Task Manager to close the program.

Exception.

Oh, in that case, it might be like Halo CE, where if you play a game type without all the nessesary tags, the game will crash with an Exception! message. Slayer is the safest one, but check all your tags and et cetera to make sure everything is being referenced right and all that nice stuff.

I'm sorry, please just fix the title of this thread. It just makes me sad that people never use the proper form of too...
As to your map's problem? Try portalling some of the level off, or if your map is really as big as you're making me immagine... chances are it's not going to be a good map anyways. No offense... it's just that Halo 2 isn't designed for MASSIVE battles like that... (hence why maps like waterworks and containment suck...)

Yeah, I have to agree. If Halo 2 supported custom vehicles and weapons, then it might be funner. But, someone somewhere would put in a nuke gun, and would easily get that Killtacular Achievement.

It wasn't supose to be a great map, I just wanted to see how big I could make one. As for polys it was around 50000 I think. I deleted the file and am working on a different project now. Oh and instead of just saying "fix the thread title", maybe you should tell might what I should change it to.

Wait, is it 50000 World Units, or 50000 Max units?

30k is the max you can have per cluster. Just saying.
