OMFG are you serious what about weapons, vehicles and stuff? I though bungie was serious about custom maps, this has got to be a joke or something. If Bungie doesn't even want us to be able to edit the weapons, just the levels, then screw them. They suck.

no you cannot make custom models, animations, sounds, particles, bipeds, vehicles...etc. You cannot create those tags either. The closest anyone has gotton is Masterz1337 swapped some projectile tags, but i dont know how.
K00rnman said he was going to try, but he is not going to release them to the public, and hes focusing his strenght on Promethius.
Heres a thread by masterz

Can you actually edit them the right way like in a H1 guerrila environment? Or just open them and have it display no controls or anything? Either way, that's still leet.

the H2 Vista maps are not .map files and not readable normally? Not a surprise

New engine, new map file type and coding

Says who?
It is not a new engine.
It probably isn't a new map format. (I don't have it, can't verify - Highly unlikely)
Hardly "new" coding.

about the limitations. all of the functions of h2guerilla like editing vehicles and weapons and globals are probally still inside of the H2EK kit but there probally just "nulled out" or maybe just disabled and we need too renable them you know. hopefully bungie is as lazy as i hope.

Are you kidding? I doubt they'd disable the features of the editing kit just because. That's stupid. If that's really what they did then it was extremely stupid (and they probably didn't).

Did you seriously just call
Kornman 'stoopid'? Pardon me, but are you f*cking retarded?

0m3g4Muff1n987 is wrong
inferno is right
Almost all of the functions that are locked and not visible are still contained in the program, apparently it would be more trouble than it is worth to remove all the code to lock down the tools.
And he wasn't calling Kornman stupid G.I.R., chill

Some more progress. I got some help from Patrick and this was the result:
It has the device machine, vehicle, and model selections.
I'm going to take a knack at tool hacking now so we can actually do something with it. (not saying I'll be successful; probably just a vain attempt)

Due to design, they can't be removed. Ever. Unless you redesign something that has been part of the engine's blood and soul for years or just don't make it an actual editor

WHAT!? Bungie added these editing features in and made them invisible just to screw with us? Wow, f*** them. But I still say that's kind of stupid, then.
Actually, that's right, Bungie locked the fields of guerilla so we couldn't edit them. Hm. So that must be what they did with this-used the vehicle, weapon etc. editing features to make the maps and then disabled them so we couldn't. I hate bungie, but their games still rock. So when you open, say, a vehicle tag, does it actually show editing controls, like "disables grenades, rapid fire" etc.? And when you unlock all the editing features will you release a new version of the map editor for us, please? :3
BTW, you have a big screen

I wish I had a nice display, but notebooks never come with a good one, especially with screen resolutions.

The actually text wasn't there. The functions were.
If you tried, like some people on the H2V forums, you would have been successful even without this hack (in opening other tags that is).
It isn't really a hack more of a edit of strings in a .dll with ResHack.

olol. I can't try though cause I don't have H2V yet (if I had it of course I'd try -_-).
