Vista + Live

From todays news over at Penny-Arcade:

I think Vista is something that 360 owners will want anyway, if for no other reason than it will allow them to get the most out of their prior investment with its built in Media Center Extender. The reason I didn't explode with rage and sunder the Earth re: this topic is because I've heard a rumor that Vista incorporates Live in some way. I've never heard what that would actually mean, top to bottom. Authenticated PCs that could host dedicated servers for the Microsoft console represent a fantasy so vivid I'm afraid to indulge in it. But if what they were saying - without actually saying it - was that there is greater synchronicity between Windows Vista and the Xbox as a gaming platform, then it may be that their statement was not merely base manipulation.

It's the first valid reason I've seen for requiring Vista...It's also the first I've heard of the rumour so I thought I'd post it here, but I'm not exactly seeking out info on this stuff...My video card isn't exactly a gaming powerhouse, and I haven't run a non-server OS in 6 years...Unless it provides me with unadulterated pleasures, Vista isn't an option in my book... ;oP

I can't think that you could mix PC with Xbox players...the amount of control you have with a mouse and keyboard compared to a console controller...Xbox people would get OWNED. But I guess if the PC side was balanced via matchmaking it would eventually work out.

Interesting possibility though...

THere was a reason why I think PC ppl mingling with Live people wasn't such a good idea, but i forgot...

I think it was because the ppl in PC can hack and Mod while the XBOX can only mod...(i dont have a xbox so i dont know that much)

Not to be a fuck. But Halo Isnt the only thing that will be on vista. so thats not the only valid reson to get vista.

lol what have i missed i havnt been on this site or play halo since what october 20....Since when do folks hate hacking and modding? And if you do just leave this site thats why this site called haloMODS....
Anyways i dont think its a good idea for halo2 to be on PC! Halo2 on Xbox has much better Graphics you can talk to other players Make funny movies(But Due To Halo2 on Pc no more funny movies with talking)And dues to it being on PC everyone will leave Xbox live and play Halo 2 PC!

No more Funny movies think about it

by the way if ure gonna flame me do it in a PM and also dont say anything like ''U only got Xbox Halo 2 is why you say that''Because answer is no ive got Halo 2 Xbox live and Halo 1 Xbox live and Halo 1 PC

Uhh...you cant be sure that ppl will leave h2xbox for h2pc, in fact some h2xbox-ers are not going to even buy h2pc! Also, yes this is haloMODS, the mods we make however is probably different from the Other mods that are running around in live, and Hacking, well thats not even our rep!

I dont have h2/xbox so I'm not a guru about modding over live

i think it would be great for halo 2 vista WHY??? well if they do it at bungie they wil have a map editor for it!!!!!!! then we can try and transfering it to halo 2 xbox.????? well anyway the guy thats saying halo 2 graphics on xbox are better than pc well that's were your wrong vista needs alot of space on ur hard drive and also it needs a high powered graphics card. for ex Nvidia has out a card 7900GTX 512mb this card is for vista due to the highly clean and new user interface vista will have. then also im building a pc for me that wil be compatible for vista halo 2
