Okay its pretty exciting with Halo2 coming to the PC (on Windows Vista) but it would be soooo much more convenient for Halo 2 PC to support Windows XP/2000... so sign this petition and Bungie might consider it!!

I'm sorry but they would never do it because microsoft probably wont allow them to make it for XP and it would take much more than the amount of memebers here to actually get them to consider thinking about it. Sorry if I put you down. But I just think thats not posible.

This should probably be in Halo2 PC General.

I wish I were wrong, but internet petitions usually don't work

I think I know why Windows XP wont work well with Halo 2...It's the same reason why Halo wont work with Windows 95 or 3.1

Can someone tell me what's so bad about getting a BETTER operating system? I like what Bungie/MS are doing.

um vista isn't only going to let you do one thing, so nobody would get it just to play halo 2 (or that would be a waste) it's to have an improved OS with fixed bugs that were in XP just like the 98 escape button log-in.

I know Bungie won't make it for XP because Halo2PC requires an improved OS and Vista is the right one for H2PC.

i dont think people should have to buy vista
my version of vista isnt even working anyway
it won't let me run aim and a bunch of other programs so it isnt impressing me very much at the moment

The only reason Microsoft is doing this is so they CAN MAKE MORE MONEY. Do you understand? That's all they're ever trying to do with all their market tricks. "You want Halo 2 on PC? ALRIGHT WELL IT'S COMING, oh and you gotta buy Vista to play it which is only really expensive whenever it even comes out." Bill Gates also announced/confirmed that Halo 3 would release the day if not, the week that the PS3 comes out. Look how rich Bill Gates is. With all that money, why charge so much for an operating system? Windows XP Home Edition retails for $199.99 which is kinda expensive. I could probably buy some hot dogs with that money instead. The point is, Vista is going to cost more, and the operating systems get more and more inefficient as they're background processes eat valuable CPU and have useless monitoring and internet update services that just slow everything down.

The reason they are doing that is to help them sell Vista. And the fact that XP will probably not support DirectX 10.

I want it just on Vista because I need a new computer anymay plus the Home Premium Edition has Media Center built in so I can stream videos to my Xbox 360 and Record TV on Xbox 360 and plus Direct X10 built in for Halo 2 PC.

That's pointless, if Vista also has a Media Center program, then I'm buying it.

To help clarify, the original plan was to launch Halo 3 when ps3 was released but we all know that's not going to happen. Sony is looking to release the ps3 later this year where as Halo 3 won't be released until mid to late 2007.

It's not that XP isn't capable of running Halo 2, it's purely a marketing scheme. There are people that will upgrade to vista just to play Halo 2, giving Microsoft more sales.
And FTW, Bill Gates has very little to do with MS anymore... so will people shut up about him, it's really annoying when everyone's like "Bill Gates is rich why sell products for so much" well they don't sell products to give Bill Gates money, he doesn't do it for a living, MS is a company so there are lots of people, who need lots of wages. So please stop talking about Bill Gates all the time, jees.

OMFG NO, do you want a superlaggy game like Halo PC, gearbox messed up the H1PC port, im glad Gearbox isnt doing H2PC, H2PC is gonna be on Vista because bungie wants it to be smooth and almost no lag and they want us to be comertible, i REALLLY mad if Bungie made H2PC for XP!

The main reason they are making it for Vista is to help sell it. It's going to be a new OS that's going to replace XP so you'll be getting it sometime. There's probably a whole lot more reasons that they're making it for Vista but my guess is the main one is marketing. And for the record, they are NOT just making Vista for Halo 2.
