Vista?
Vista?
Okay its pretty exciting with Halo2 coming to the PC (on Windows Vista) but it would be soooo much more convenient for Halo 2 PC to support Windows XP/2000... so sign this petition and Bungie might consider it!!
The Ultimate Halo Map Maker is Coming...
Whoever said Halo2 would never come to PC should be shot in the head!!

I'm sorry but they would never do it because microsoft probably wont allow them to make it for XP and it would take much more than the amount of memebers here to actually get them to consider thinking about it. Sorry if I put you down. But I just think thats not posible.

i dont think people should have to buy vista
my version of vista isnt even working anyway
it won't let me run aim and a bunch of other programs so it isnt impressing me very much at the moment

The only reason Microsoft is doing this is so they CAN MAKE MORE MONEY. Do you understand? That's all they're ever trying to do with all their market tricks. "You want Halo 2 on PC? ALRIGHT WELL IT'S COMING, oh and you gotta buy Vista to play it which is only really expensive whenever it even comes out." Bill Gates also announced/confirmed that Halo 3 would release the day if not, the week that the PS3 comes out. Look how rich Bill Gates is. With all that money, why charge so much for an operating system? Windows XP Home Edition retails for $199.99 which is kinda expensive. I could probably buy some hot dogs with that money instead. The point is, Vista is going to cost more, and the operating systems get more and more inefficient as they're background processes eat valuable CPU and have useless monitoring and internet update services that just slow everything down.

Happy?

Sig file size too high.
Re: Vista?
The reason they are doing that is to help them sell Vista. And the fact that XP will probably not support DirectX 10.afridge wrote:Okay its pretty exciting with Halo2 coming to the PC (on Windows Vista) but it would be soooo much more convenient for Halo 2 PC to support Windows XP/2000... so sign this petition and Bungie might consider it!!

Re: Vista?
That's pointless, if Vista also has a Media Center program, then I'm buying it.

I like pie!

It's not that XP isn't capable of running Halo 2, it's purely a marketing scheme. There are people that will upgrade to vista just to play Halo 2, giving Microsoft more sales.
And FTW, Bill Gates has very little to do with MS anymore... so will people shut up about him, it's really annoying when everyone's like "Bill Gates is rich why sell products for so much" well they don't sell products to give Bill Gates money, he doesn't do it for a living, MS is a company so there are lots of people, who need lots of wages. So please stop talking about Bill Gates all the time, jees.

The main reason they are making it for Vista is to help sell it. It's going to be a new OS that's going to replace XP so you'll be getting it sometime. There's probably a whole lot more reasons that they're making it for Vista but my guess is the main one is marketing. And for the record, they are NOT just making Vista for Halo 2.
i got halo working on widows 95, but its reealy laggy, like 4 fps, when i got 90 in XPsil3ntdarkn355 wrote:I think I know why Windows XP wont work well with Halo 2...It's the same reason why Halo wont work with Windows 95 or 3.1
services&other stuff will be better in vista, and u can turo ALL 'uselelss' monitoring off in xp, so why not in vista too then?Onetoomanysodas wrote:The only reason Microsoft is doing this is so they CAN MAKE MORE MONEY.
