Yea i agree with you considering the new media center version jsut came out i think that its stupid to make people have to by a whole new os just to run one game.

Well, bungie is most likely not going to change their minds about it. It'l give M$ more money since lots of ppl will buy it. I mean, you think XP can run it ?

Yeah I suppose, I just don't want to buy new hardware that can mess up my computer if it turns out like Microsoft ME...

Same, here. Bungie has all the time in the world to release it for both. Just the Vista one will be better. But, w/e. My dad works for a computer company and all. So he might end up upgrading all of our computers. Or i'll just buy it myself.

think about it, you still have to buy vista later on. most all programs that dont allow win 95 or 98, why should halo 2 be any diffrent? there are stuff that probably is programed into vista that xp doesn't have, but halo 2 requires.

Well, think about one thing...
Your not buying a whole OS for one game because now that H2 is coming on Vista, a crap load more devs will be making more games on Vista also...
Half-Life 3 could be on Vista for example (not saying its going to come out, but just an example -.-)

well if theyre not programing it for windows XP then your not gonna have much of a choice, unless your a hacking god...
i think its time for a new computer for me anyway, i just need to make some good cash this summer. when does vista come out anyway?

on gameburnworld.com they release cracks for games like doom 3 and stuff. They even made windows 95 compatible with Doom 3. If you wanna wait for one of those fixes when the game comes out just give it a few days. Also I'm not talking about no cd cracks. Just a crack to play on another OS.

I think it's VERY unlikely that a crack like this will EVER appear.

Yes but even if this happens its for those that are not going to buy new hardware to run halo2 or vista. Therefore theyre gaming experience is going to completely blow because its not meant for anything other than the specified hardware for vista.

You forget, about 80% of people just to be ABLE to run Vista will have to completely rebuild their rigs, Myself included. jks pointed out that with vista around the corner, a lot of older non-vista compatible hardware is severely dropping in price. 256's and 512 MB cards for AGP slots are now under 200 Bucks and still rapidly falling, and 64 bit stuff and DX10 compatible stuff is steadily climbing. You might want to check to see if your Rig can even withstand vista before you buy the new OS, because you might spend a big chunk of change on being able to Run Vista.

I honestly think that everyone is exagerating on the requirements of Vista. If you needed all that, I'm sure MicroSoft would be losing money. One of my friends was able to run the Vista beta on his laptop just fine.

Yes, I don't know why everyone's so scared or mad about window vista.
It's just an opertaing system it won't bite you.

You guys don't understand.
You don't have to upgrade your hardware to RUN vista ITSELF. You need to upgrade to run VISTA AERO, which is completely optional.
