now there you are wrong...people can't stand losing, and so they find/make programs to jack their killing power up whereas *people will get killed unfairly thus cheating and people will ask, then the guy will give, the program spreads, people modify it to their likings, a new patch comes out, the guy modifies it to correspond the patch, pwns people again, thus continuing the cycle from the *

You guys need to read Bungie's updates more often..."Lack of food made us not see the errors of the network code, like transferring mods, and stand bying, one way to stop all of this cheating is just that, you think they are going to just leave it as it is? That they will just "hope" that nobody will cheat? No, they wont, they will fix the problem. They will MAKE it so mods do not transfer over the network, and they will fix the standbying problem. If you look at it, almost ALL forms of cheating are in manipulating the problems of the network code. And although with Halo 2 coming to the PC, that means that there will probably be other ways of cheating not discovered yet, [perhaps a trainer problem... though if I thought of that in these 30 seconds than whoever is making Halo 2 PC sure as hell has...] Some of the people in this thread, like me, have actually put some though into it. Others, on the other hand, have just mindlessly posted a flame, or that MS will have a "magic fix" in the OS they are using. Maybe that is true, but if you think about it, they are going to look at the GAMES errors and fix them, instead of adding features to an OS for one game... </rant>
Errr. I personally dont consider it to be pwning when they cheat. Considering it usually means that they lack much skill.sil3ntdarkn355 wrote:now there you are wrong...people can't stand losing, and so they find/make programs to jack their killing power up whereas *people will get killed unfairly thus cheating and people will ask, then the guy will give, the program spreads, people modify it to their likings, a new patch comes out, the guy modifies it to correspond the patch, pwns people again, thus continuing the cycle from the *

The mods online and standbying work because of Halo2's anti-lag and dynamic host system. The only way to definetely kill online modding and standbying would be to kill those two systems.ICEFIRE wrote:You guys need to read Bungie's updates more often..."Lack of food made us not see the errors of the network code, like transferring mods, and stand bying, one way to stop all of this cheating is just that, you think they are going to just leave it as it is? Kinda true, I've seen some really good players mod just because they are bored of normal Halo 2... whenever I get bored of the game I just play another though.Errr. I personally dont consider it to be pwning when they cheat. Considering it usually means that they lack much skill.
Bungie also said in the update I mentioned that they had a fix, but couldn't apply it seeing it would mean somehow editing the disk, something they probably don't want to do.The mods online and standbying work because of Halo2's anti-lag and dynamic host system.
