[WIP] Frostbite

Post by conscars »

Some of you may know me from other forums; Gearbox, H2Vista.net, or heard of me. I don't post here that often at all but I thought I'd drop buy and show you guys my WIP map for H2V. I'm just hoping to help get awareness out there and hopefully more downloads once it's released. You may also know that I'm working on a recreation of Valhalla for H2V. Don't worry, I haven't abandoned it, this map is just for learning purposes so I can get used to the differences between the HEK and the H2EK.

This map is called Frostbite, formerly Nightfall, and it takes place in the Canadian arctic near Iqaluit. The story behind it is that since the Northwest passage opened up in the future, and shipping has increased through the area, the UNSC have expanded there as well. This is a small storage facility in the area which was stripped of most of its supplies when the war came to earth. A small skirmish ensued at the facility when covenant forces arrived to destroy supplies in the area.

Anyway, here's the pictures:

My model is covered with completely new and custom textures (except for some detail maps and some bump maps of course) made by yours truly, which I intend on releasing with the map.

I'm looking for crit and advice on the map so far. It's nearing completion, so expect a release something in the next month or two. I've put it through a few gameplay tests already, so don't bother asking for a beta.

edit: and I release the pipes look a bit odd; I went through the map after putting in new shaders and lightmaps looking for problems and I found quite a few.

No, but that's a pretty cool looking map.
