So i wanna get in on H2V
in May my car was totaled and i just recently got my insurance check
so i want to buy a laptop for college next year, and i was wondering how good the quality would have to be for me to easily play h2v and design h2v maps
but i was hoping to stay around 1000$ so the very minimum requirements would be sufficient
any advice?

... I have a 600$ laptop and I can run Battlefield 2. Almost Halo 2 Vista I think... A 1000 dollar laptop should get him the minimum requirements...drxthirst2 wrote:Definitely NOT.
I don't think a 2000 dollar one would give you 30fps.
>_>
You mean the way my 500$ computer can get more?
wtf? I have a 1000 dollar one and it gets 20.

It really just depends. Sometimes you'll find a good deal, but other times you'll get stuck with crappy equipment for that money. Just go to a store, look at the H2V box, check the minimum requirements. If you don't find any laptops that meet or exceed that, wait a couple months, then look again.

I bought my desktop, which was on display around a year ago for like $250. I found a few old HDDs around the house, bought a new graphics card, and upgraded the RAM. I can run oblivion with about 60 fps or higher with 1280 x 786 resolution and everything set to full. As for a laptop, good luck getting a cheap one that has a lot of power for gaming.

$1000 should run it. Especially with your american currency. Especially since you don't pay an extra premium like I have to with almost all electronics.
But you'd need to take it into consideration about things like battery life. I sacrificed a good GFX card for an integrated one to give me an 8+ hour battery life so it can last a working day of work and games. I don't think my lappy would work with h2v (I'd love to test but I ain't forking out money just for a test). I meet the minimum requirements.
But for someting that would run it well, instead of ok, then $1000 won't cut it for a good laptopt with h2v capabilities too. 1500-2000 most likley

Punkpc, that notebook's specs are just about exactly the same as that other one SE suggested. Except for a faster but smaller hard drive. Lol.
And SilentEdge, that laptop is SWEET! I mean, it's a GREAT deal! If there was one exactly like that, with a faster HD (and it'd be nice too if there was a bigger/higher res screen, and if I could be picky, a little more gfx memory), I'd buy that in a heartbeat. I've always wanted a laptop with a webcam, and a good graphics card.
But yeah, you could definitely find a computer for $1000 (maybe a little more) that could run H2V fine. Take into consideration silentedge's suggestion.
