I had some what the same problem you are having and i dont know if my answer will help but my solution was reinstalling vista on a clean partition. When i installed vista i just upgraded from xp and i dont know if there were just incompadable programs running or what but i had a number of problem other than my live gaming not working. Anyways after I reinstalled vista on a clean partition all was great, and dont worry about files you want to save vista automaticly saves all your files and you can delete unwanted files.
My advice may not help but it worked for me. Oh if you are running xp you just need to upgrade to vista thats another common problem. And what happed to all the other posts on this thread, there were more and they disappeared......
They were just people argueing and being offtopic.
