Error when updating halo 2 vista

After I signed into xbox live on my windows live account, it asks me to update Halo 2. So, I hit "Yes, update now" and it gets to about 99% and I get this error -

Does anyone know of a way to fix it? Or is there a way to play offline?

try manually downloading and installing patch?? http://download.microsoft.com/download/ ... pdate1.exe

...it's because you're playing the game on XP.
