Making a .ass plugin for a free modeling program?
Making a .ass plugin for a free modeling program?
I do not have too much experience in the use of modeling/animation programs, but would it be possible to make a plugin for a program such as Wings 3d or XSI?
My reason for this question:
I have been mapping on the source engine for a year or so now, and I know it is possible to export maps from hammer editor to modeling programs (such as XSI/Wings like I stated before). Now after I export my map to one of those programs, could I use the proper plugin to be able to export my maps I made in hammer to halo 2 vista?

I wrote a JMS exporter for my own little app, I think you can write one for another modeling program. As long as said modeling program has some sort of plugin interface.
I've never used Wings, so I wouldn't know.

Everything you'll ever need to know about me.
Need help with Linux, C#, C, Python, Java, PHP, Javascript, CSS, or VB? I'm available from 3:00PM-8:00PM EST on weekdays.

Yea, that's one reason....0m3g4Muff1n987 wrote:Nope. That's the one reason you'd ever wanna get 3ds-it's compatible with blitzkrieg.
Gmax is basically 3DS Max 4.... since then all sorts of new tools and whatnot have been added to the pallete of amazing tools in 3ds max. (the current version is 3ds max 9 by the way).
for you to say "Why would you buy the better one, it's more expensive." to me is like asking someone why they buy an expensive tool... or skateboard..... it makes your tasks so much easier.
