just buy windows vista and install.. xp is old news.. vista is newer and better. they didnt start with scratch with vista they starting with their building blocks a.k.a. xp and made it better, more stable and all and all better. all the problems you herd about vista can be worked around and believe me there arent many.. i know some people think music sounds better out of a cassette player its just not true..... game set and match..

Dx10 Doesn't matter, H2V doesn't use it. And just go to falling leaf's website, they have DX10 fr XP there. DX10 has nothing to do with H2V, people can't seem to get that.

I can open sapien... just can't launch a .scenario file... it gives me a "###ERROR: this machine isn't vista!!!" in the debug. I tried dissasembling the app... but I couldn't find the location of the check in it... :S
im pretty sure the check is to see if it can use Vistas API's
That's correct.Or at least that's what Korn told me.

okay, if its not dx10 what is it? just the fact that vista has windows live or the obvious reason that vista is a way better o.s. than anything else out there? or maybe its the newest and most up to date o.s. out there.. the fact is even after falling leaf riggs up their halo "CRACK" for xp there will be many more programs and games that wont work on xp in the future for the plane and simple fact that xp is old news and gonna be discontinued and vista is gonna be out for a good 5 years or more.. but get some more ram and/or build a new system your gonna have to soon anyways.. a 3gbps pentium 4 or d series 3gbps processor recently was kickass is now old news.. conroe is the beginning of the future, and i bet anyone who dosnt want to upgrade system are the same people who want to play halo2VISTA on xp.. a.k.a. play an xbox 360 game in an old xbox..

That's a very bias and somewhat unreasonable response. I use older operating systems all the time; even my old DOS computers from time to repair things. Halo 2 Vista only works on Vista mainly because of the Multiplayer Windows "Live" functions I believe.

If you use Windows Server 2003 (like me) you can set up a server for Windows Live/H2V. I figured when I saw it had something for 2003 it would run the game, but it lets you install the tools and a server.

i actually prefer windows server 2000 for running dedicated server programs.. but dos? for what? what would you actually be able to repair with dos? i'm not asking because i'm saying your stupid because i'm sure your not i'm just wondering.. i know i'm not into old, i'm into new and from my experience new isn't always better but i know for a fact vista is. and unless you do something moronic it wont fail on you.. i was a huge xp fan before because it is a great system and when i first installed vista i wasnt happy because there werent enough drivers and programs but now i'll never go back.. why would microsoft, the leading software company, release a new os that is inferior than its older one? infact vista has a good 5 years of technology over xp.. XP was the greatest microsoft os, and still is a great one but it is no longer the best just face it. it is not a bias opinion, it is just a solid evidential fact. like me saying a corvette is faster than a metro... it may need more gas "ram and processor size" but it is all and all faster and better in every way.

Paragraphs are your friend, lol. Just Kidding.

You made some good points man. I don't exactly like Vista with all my heart either, mainly becuase of all the features. I hate how microsoft thinks that file extensions confuse us, so they added the option (which is turned on by default) to hide known file extensions. Did they even think about that? How can I tell if that file is a .exe or a .jpg without checking it?

Other things I hate are how simpilfied things are. I'd prefer to go browsing for a file, than just having a default save location.

I could list the other things I don't like, but the post would become so long that people would not read it. I like XP more, but XP is the new old, and it's going to have its support discontinued Jan 31, 2008. Hopefully, Vista doen't have too many bugs or security flaws.
