Shee Handling

I have some tips to share on Halo Combat Evolved for pc. I assume this is the correct forum. If not, could a moderater move it please?

First of all, these are manoevers and tips which can be used to throw of shees chasing you. Secondly, unless your facing a noob, you'll need to practice these to do my trick. Thirdly, they are simple squences of doing stuff.

1. As you are flying foward and being chased, press s, and look up. The t lciothrigher shee will pass over, maybe getting in some shots in.

2. As you are flying foward, press s and turn hard left or right. The shee should beign to trun in that direction, then hsould swivel orund the otehr way. Useful for confusing people as to which way you are going, but only effective at certain angles. Also looks cool.

3. Press s, look up and turn aorund, now go fowards. Your will be like- wtf?- until they realise what happened. Easier with noobs, they probably have no idea about the mini map.

4. This is hard to pull of, but is so funny. use the tricks above and your own, to fly so you are about to enter a head on colission. the tircks is, to eihter ram your wing into the front of their shee, or skim over the top. ramming will eject them (pancakes anyone?), while skimming them will kill them while the are in the shee.

5. Shee bombing, my favourite. Shee bombing is dive/range/sky/staion bombing (fuel rods) veichles. Practice on a server with some rnaodm password.

A. Dive boming: Fly towarrds your target. Stoop into a dive, fire and pull back up.

B. Range bombing: Fly towards your target from a far distance away. Aim behind the target, and fire. If done right, you can flip a shee form the other side of the field.

C. Sky bombing. Simply fly over the target, realeasing your bomb when you need to. basicly, dive bomibng wiht no dive. Not as easy to do, but you're less likely to get shot.

D. Stationary bombing. Use the s and w to keep a maintained postion. Aim for whatever, and fire. Good used with range bombing skills.

Now some general tips on putting your new found (or revised) tactics to use.

-Practice hitting the front of a warthog with the 4 bombing technuiques so you can flip it easily.

-When you go to the enemies base, always flip the hogs. Aways. hogs are VERY effective anti-shee units. The rocket ones not as much, nor tnaks, as aiming is difficult on them.

-Skimming the ground is fun, but misses easily.

-My favourite bombing route is flipping the hog at the front, then the shee, then the warthog behind the base (can't rember which team base it is you ahve to do this on). Then I retreat, and stationary bomb whatever the little men run for. Splat.

Well, thats my little guide over. Once I get back to my real pc, I will make a new guide acording to the poll, open for 6 days, 3 days to get to my pc, and 3 days to refamilarise myself with the veichles. Also, sumbit your own techiniques.

Some good tips, although I never use a banshee. However, they're not very effective. What I mean is that when you're being chased by a banshee, you usually have a very short amount of time to react. Even practicing these techniques is not really good enough when you're avoiding the banshee out of instinct.

I know. I ad some other tips as wellh, but I can't remember them. I'm going to update it when I get back home. I also encourage everyone to send in their shee skills and tips. I'm going to do a dogfight tut next, then the tutorial that the poll calls for.

No, no vehicle is the "best vehicle ever". If you're good, you don't need vehicles to kill people...just a pistol and a sniper.

Vehicles (omg, I spelt it right 0.0) are fun, their there for reasons.

A) To pwn noobs in.

B) To pwn the noobs in them with a pistol 9noob in vehice, you completely own them with a pistol)

C) Fun. Driving over people is funny, trust me.

That really happened. But I got owned a few seocnds later, i laughed ot much, and didn't think to realise what I was doing with the mouse. The hog flipped, and landed on top of me.

D) Shee fights are just so awsome. An intenense Shee fight is a great spectacle to watch, is cool to be in one, and its realy down to who makes the first mistake. A good shee pilot can pwn a shee noob in seconds.

But honestly, you can't "pwn" or "own" somebody if you've killed them with a vehicle. Because "pwning" or "owning" someone requires skill; ie. not driving a vehicle.

Unless u are in the Passanger seat and threw a stickie 50 yards and stuck someone and got a killtacular

that would be considered a "pwn"

This is my opinion on this topic.

Shee wars: First off I don't really agree with this:

I know you can have Shee battles in big games... Unless there are Tanks - then your fucked.
It just takes time and a keen eye as to watch what's happening on the ground and also what your opponent is doing.

Secondly I believe you can pwn in Vehicles, it just takes aim.
The Shee; all you have to do is guesstimate where your opponents going to fly and Fuel Rod him and/or bluffing where your going to fly.
The Tank just takes aim obviously... I remember at a Halo 2 LAN (map Coagulation), I was at blue base and a Shee flew out of red base only to be blown up.
I lol'd. I also let him know about my shot.
The Hog is just fun

.

But I agree, hitting people in either the Hog or the Shee is just n00bish.
I didn't say the Tank because if your that slow... You deserve to be killed.

What isn't noobish in a shee is fule rodding people. That takes aim, wich is skill. Anyway, if osmeone wnzats to run you over in a hog... Stafe, turn, chuck a sticky. Pwnt.

No, I've took on 2 shees and 2 tanks at the same time in a shee. Didnt kill anybody, but didnt get killed either.

Also... does anybody think this should be in tutorials? And the name changed to vehicles?

Lemme rephrase - with anyone good in a Tank, then you have a higher chance on being shot down.

This isn't really a tutorial, more of a guide.

So when somebody fires 7 rockets and sniper shots at you, misses with a tank three times, and then you run him over, back up, and drive over him again, that's not pwned? Hmm gives me ideas...
