Digital Camo patern for the Master Chief and the Assault rifle. I posted the request for it, and got bored so I tried it myself. Looks good in game so far, and I figured I'd share it with the rest of ya.

It's actually not too bad from what I can see in the pictures. You did a good job at blending the skin into the actual bitmap, rather than just a straight copy+paste job.

I dont have to inject your skins to know how they would look in game so I didn't bother doing that but I did download them and open them in photoshop and this is my outlook on them.

Seriously im really impressed like JK said about how you took the time to actually mold the texture to the neccessary areas then a straight copy/paste job. You left in all the detail edges and parts that needed to be shown to complete the look without making it look tacky. The chief armor looks great and my only complaint on the AR would be if you didnt cover the handle where he holds the gun to fire it. Also having a multipurpose to compliment both skins would makes these a ton better.

All in all I give this a 8/10 for it being your first public release by your account details. GJ on not making the normal rookie mistakes and can't wait till you do something else.

Next time try something a little more complex like a flamer or needler. Thoes are hardly done and would be a nice change of pace to see something new.

Thanks everyone, Photoshop is really a wonderful thing, and I've been photoshopping for a looooong time. Never had a PC that could run REAL games until recently, so that's my explanation for the noob-ness. I know Halo isn't exactly a new game, but the whole Vista thing is the reason I got into Halo 1.

As for the needler or the flamer, I'm really not a fan, I know it's kinda selfish, but I really only use the pistol, AR, shotty, and plasma rifle. I'll probably make an urban camo shotty, Puma (hog), and maybe a banshee. Thanks for the good feedback.

EDIT: After some playing around, the armor skin works best with an ALL RED multipurpose. I could upload one myself but it's easy enough for anyone with a decent image program to move the hue from blue to red. If you want a little more shimmer, add some blues to your red.

I didnt mean do a weapon you like, I ment do a harder weapon to get better at skinning in general.

I personally hate Banshees but I spend alot of time working on them due to the end result of my own worth knowing I did something that was hard for me to do.

ha... this is how my first skin started out... i sat on this forum requesting for a glossy black pistol skin for months then finally got some tuts and hmt and photoshop and made my own. been skinning since
