Mod: Halo Legendary-UPDATED UI JAN 19

Halo: Legendary is a full campaign mod for Halo. The purpose of this mod was to make the single player more challenging, with more capable enemies, and also some modified shaders and particles.

I tried to make this different from all the other hundreds of unoriginal PC mods, so I made sure there were no cheesy "oh noes teh elites have brain chips and marines have brain chips so they sometimes betray you and sometimes take sides with you" moments. I don't think there is anything really screwy in the mod, there are no corrupted textures, messed up cutscenes or exception errors.

EDIT: What I meant when I was mocking the marines betraying you in other mods, is that this mod has no stupid screw ups which are extremely obvious and in your face. In the Silent Cartographer, you may notice a missing piece of foliage or two, but nothing insanely stupid and obvious like marines betraying you for no reason, or picking up a needler saying "picked up an assault rifle".

Also, there are no meta swaps in this whole SP mod. I think I accidentaly did one in b30, but in every map all the swapping is either done through the tags' dependencies or through the scenario. I've also tried to keep it consistent throughout the whole bunch of maps, so instead of retyping in values and rechecking flags, the same metas are injected into every map.

Anyways, here are some pictures, a video and the download. I haven't tested the PPfs yet, tell me if they don't work. Also, I'm trying to post a new UI but I haven't found my old UI to make a PPf out of it yet.

EDIT: NEW UI Attached at bottom of page. PICTURES ALSO AT BOTTOM OF PAGE.. UI has new music, specially selected for the menu (NO ripping) and new look. see pics please.

EDIT: Added a poll, now going to try uploading the mod to Halomods instead of my server. Expect an update for it soon though, I'm going to fix a mistake in a10 and upload a new ui.map.

EDIT: FIXED C10.ppf MAKE SURE YOU GET YOUR ORIGINAL 343 GS MAP (c10.map) AND THEN PUT IT IN YOUR MAPS FOLDER AND APPLY IT.

this mod looks amazing i love the edited shaders! The only thing im not to fond of is some of the new sounds. BUt other then that id tap that :P

lol i cant tell the difference...probably cause i havnt played SP in 4 years...but yah...i cant tell what most of the modifications are :P


but uhhh the people above me seem to like it...and from what i can tell u changed it looks pretty cool...sooo...gj..lol

He explodes into a pile of bloody gibs after he slides a few seconds, it's hard to show in that vid but it does happen. The other crewmen die normally though.

Also, did anyone try using the shotgun yet? It has a blast effect made by modifying the projectile. When you land enough pellets on a biped at close range, they go flying. But if you land only a few pellets on them, they are damaged like usual, no flying around or spinning around or anything. This was done without modifying the pellet damage.

EDIT: The sounds aren't that bad, the video has crap sound quality and fraps' sound recording sucks.

Engineers, they were cut from the final game but you can still find them in HMT.

Amit, he made it a while back, but I think the topic got deleted or something.

Edit: from what I tested, only the a30 ppf and the sounds ppf(I didn't test the bitmaps ppf) work, but the sounds on the flamethrower are really screwed up :(

hmmm did u swap the firing effect for an explosion and change the sounds and particles of that explosion to the shotgun firing effects sounds and particles? lol thats jsut a guess, cause then when u hit people from close they would fly back :D amd i right? eh, eh?

I released a video and some pictures a while ago, but never released it. You must have this mod confused with another.

And the engineers are working, according to the books they're a head attached to air sacs. When you kill one, instead of floating in the air without an animation, the engineer's air sacs will explode and gibs will fly everywhere.

The shotgun blast effect is made by modifying the projectile to have a combined explosion effect, this explosion only happens when you have a lot of pellets in a biped. The explosion effect creates no particles or light, only a damage effect which has a force and sends the object it detonated in flying.

And no, there are no edited scripts, I don't believe that's possible in Halo 1 hacking, but you can edit scripts in Halo 2. The modified encounters were done through sparkedit and modifying the scenario.

Um, and has anyone downloaded the mod yet? Or are you guys just commenting on the pics and video?

100000/10 this is very amazing dude this seriously deserves outstanding....and did I see covenant body parts falling off!!!?!?? REMOVABLE LIMBS SHOULD BE IN HALO 3 and this mod...

I didn't really add them, Bungie already left them there unfinished. I just put them in and fixed them up so they can die properly.
