all the other mods are (or should be) in ppf format unless they are rebuilt or for halo ceauerhantheman1 wrote:You mean like all the other mods on this site?
no, its a lot more bungies work than it is wilsons.auerhantheman1 wrote:And besides, if wilson releases the maps, it's not other people's work, its his own.
its illegal.
I can't release them in maps, there's nothing illegal about it (you can release rebuilt maps here). As long as I don't upload the full Halo PC I wouldn't get into trouble, but if I posted a map it wouldn't be illegal, but the moderators would take it down instantly because there's no point in releasing 1 gig of maps when most people could download ppfs. And you guys wouldn't want to leave your comps on for a whole day to download a mod and then have to convert it.wasserbrunner wrote:all the other mods are (or should be) in ppf format unless they are rebuilt or for halo ceauerhantheman1 wrote:You mean like all the other mods on this site?

And I'll try to test the UI.map to see if there are any screw ups.
And the people who keep complaining about the lack of new models and textures - there are a ton of new textures, but I only use high quality ones which don't look crazy or don't fit in, so you won't notice anything like a purple marine or a checkerboard MC.
And seriously, who thinks a vertex dragged model looks better than a model made by Bungie? I don't like stray vertices sticking out of models, or stretched textures or horribly textured meshes, or reloading an invisble clip. And none of the decent looking vertex dragged models have a 3rd person model, so they land in the same upright position when they drop on the ground. Also, I have never found a decent looking model which could fit into the Halo universe (I don't want an m249 or desert eagle, most Halo players want their fictional guns, not a 21st century weapon in 2552).
It's hard to see from the pics, but if you play the mod for a while, and then go back to old Halo, you'll see that Legendary's shaders and textures are very different and are shinier. Many multipurpose maps were corrupted when Gearbox converted them over to PC, and I've fixed most of them (the longsword, the AR, healthpacks, pistol and AR ammo). AI is also a lot smarter, they have the same accuracy as your weapons (except the flood, who spray bullets all over the place with horrible accuracy, but can be dangerous in groups) and spend less time standing still.
EDIT: To AMIT: The UI file uses some bitmaps which were not injected when I released the ppfs. Listen to it though, there is new music which isn't as annoying as the old monks theme. I'll release a new bitmaps.ppf soon but my ftp isn't working (there's like 5 attachments here, I'll try to add it to my site instead of posting a ton of crap here)
Actually, everything we post here is illegal. Halo PC is copyrighted, and we have no rights to reverse engineer it or to post their copyrighted content on the internet (I thought you meant illegal as in piracy). So all Halo hacking is illegal, because you are reverse engineering copyrighted content and putting it on the net. Even CE modding is illegal, because most modders use Kornman's hacked Guerilla, or use Hek+ to extract resources out of Halo PC. So pretty much everything on Halomods is illegal, because it involves reverse engineering or ripping content which you didn't create. But the thing is, Bungie doesn't care, and they're not going to waste their time suing all the halo modding sites.@noodle wrote:U know posting the ui should be illegal. Pm me on why that is/
