Please don't go clicking ...I don't want to raise any red flags that could get ad revenue suspended altogether. The site's monthly bandwidth usage is typically about 150 to 200GB per month. The current system specs: Intel Xeon 3060 Dual Core Conroe Processor 150GB 10k SATA drive 2GB RAM 2.5TB bandw...

End of HaloMods?
Hey everybody- I know it's been a long time since you've heard from ol' grenadiac (I would venture to guess some of you probably don't even know who I am). I started HaloMods about 4 or 5 years ago - just before HaloPC came out and console modding was in its infancy. I've watched the site grow from ...

DOH! Forums are fixed
Apparently I didn't set the permissions correctly before, so you couldn't see the new forums. Hopefully that is fixed now.
My bad!

OFFICIAL Forum Merge Discussion Thread
I thought I would post this thread so people could ask questions about the forum merge or make comments. I expect that it will take a few days to complete the merge and move all the content over to the new box, and hopefully it will go smoothly. Iron_Forge is the brainiac that wrote the scripts to p...

Guess I'll post here about the ad. I'm running it because it pays _substantially_ more than my normal ads, enough to upgrade the halomods webserver in December. The campaign will stop at the end of the year, then I'll go back to the normal ones. I've contacted the ad people about a different size ba...

Yeah, I'm not a big fan of the AOL ad either, but if I keep it up for the next month or so, it means a new server for HaloMods. If you guys think you can come up with some replacement revenue, I'm willing to listen. I wish I could avoid ads altogether, but it costs me a couple hundred a month to pay...

Destroy All Humans! 2
What do hippies, aliens and KGB agents have in common? They all play a part in Destroy All Humans! 2, the sequel to the popular alien shoot-em-up. I got my hands on a review copy of the game, and it seems to live up to its reputation as a quirky shooter with tons of humor. If you love blowing up hip...

Feature Request List
Since many of us know what worked well and what didn't with Halo1 PC and HaloCE, I thought it might be a good idea to start kicking around some ideas for feature requests. Once we have a sizable collection of ideas, I will put up some kind of poll where we can figure out the popularity of different ...

There certainly is a procedure for appointing moderators, and past behavior, no matter what the context, counts for a LOT. Moderators almost always have a pristine record of not breaking any rules, because they set the example for the regular users. That is why I almost always approve of moderators ...

Halo2PC Forum spawnage
Alright, since H2PC will obviously be a HUGE event for the modding community, I thought we could start up a new forum specifically for it. Let the buzz begin! First of all, the announcement made earlier today: http://www.bungie.net/News/TopStory.aspx?story=halo2vistaannounce&p=6136047 What are y...

Holiday Gift Guide
I was browsing through my latest issue of PC Gamer magazine, and they were doing their annual holiday gift guide...so I thought to myself, "Why not put together a Modding gift guide?" You could have things like xbox case mod materials, Halo stuff, whatever you guys can think of. The more s...

Using the Report Post Feature
The new forum has a feature called "report post". If you find any posts that violate any of the rules, click the Exclamation Icon in that post (located at the top right of the post). This brings up a form where you fill in what rule the post is breaking. This makes it easier for moderators...
