Modding Halo PC?

OK, So can you mod the normal Halo PC or does it have to be Custom Edition?

Sorry, might be a dumb quesion but I'm new to modding in PC. Any help would be greatly apreciated. Thanks.

OK, well I've still got the same problem even after this long, long time. I still can't open the maps in HMT. Its version 3.5 and no matter what map I choose, its the same exact problem. "Not a valid Halo map" So, er....WTF?! And I have no idea about anything to do with coding, so I'm not ...

these are the maps that came with halo PC.

ok, i got HMT 3.5 but it won't let me open the maps...it says "This is not a valid Halo map" or "Could not find file"

so i can't even OPEN the maps. if i could get them open, i could already have made about 3-4 maps...

any suggestions?
