i just got new parts 4 my xbox. (motherboard,daughterboard,HDD) halo2 mp has been loading slower lately. is this normal? if not, how do i fix it?

does any1 kno how to unlock/lock an xbox HDD? i accidentally erased my MS Dash so i bought a new motherboard,doughterboard, and HDD and installed them. i need to lock/unlock my old hard disk so i can use it with my new motherboard. if u don't need to do this plz let me know. and if so how do u do it...
