You mean when I bring the model into Max (I use Blender, I despise Max and Maya), make sure it's centered on the world origin?

Double posted to bump, but with new info. I got the little turd to show up by replacing the plasma pistol, but it sits above MC's hand. How do I define where the hand grips the pistol? Is the only influence on that the frame or marker that I set way back as a max file? No doubt that one's a question...

Hi all, Okay, I've read the different tuts, read the stickies, done some searches, and so far, no luck. I've gotten a model ingame, and I've even gotten it to show up in MC's hand, but for some reason, this new model doesn't show up in his hand, and neither model I've made has shown up when stuck in...

Blender reads the opacity of the model I'm importing automatically, so Max better be able to read that - how is the Hog bound to it's windshield and how is that set?

Limit to types of vehicles in HaloCE?

Balance issues aside for the moment, is it possible to add several more types of vehicles to HaloCE maps? For example, a third kind of warthog, or second kind of banshee?

I haven't fiddled with import/export, but I know that Blender reads the HMT exported models just fine, including all the odd webbing all over them.

THAT ^ was confusing. No, .obj doesn't export right from Blender. Use VRML 2.0, it works perfectly. There's also a variety of formats and scripts to use for export, including perhaps the native formats that 3ds Max and Gmax use.
