I was reading through those skinning tutorials, and I can really see how they would be hard to follow for somebody who doesn't know much about Photoshop. That image is almost 1MB... You could get it down to 50k without any really noticeable loss if you used a jpg... Other than that, it's a nice first skin. Good job.

Yeah, it's for Halo 2. I've already skinned the ghost and the warthog with the same color scheme, and they say "Dr Pepper Racing" on them :D I dunno... I've done everything I can think of to this bitmap, so I'm just going to extract the virgin one and try again. I'll let you know how it go...

Ok, I skinned the warthog yesterday, and it went reletively smoothly. Now I'm working on the banshee, but some parts that I color white come out purple. http://forums.the-bebop.com/sigs_avatars/tns/banshee001.jpg You can't really tell in this picture, but the wing section on the left is also purple....
